Bruises dot her face

like damaged constellations;


she is made of stardust

but was also created from a year long battle-


she is Aphrodite and Athena

in one,

an embodiment of what it means

to face the world’s whirlpools

with courage and strength


but she never had

Enough

and thus eventually

they took her.
