I am a mere dot

with a universe outside

and a universe in every cell and molecule

and even atom;

I am protons and neutrons

and electrons and quarks,

I am the universe’s fabric

and I am the one who sits at night

knowing that stars decompose

just as bodies decompose

and one day we will be regarded

as one and the same

and this iteration will be forgotten-

the tears and pain are inconsequential

and the atoms will break apart with fission

until I lie on the ground and the sky at once;

I fade away and leave the universe from this state.
