The silhouettes of trees

blow in the wind

as the rain began to pour

Suddenly-

we never expected nature’s gift

but we invite it all the more

because the dim sky

and the clouds of grey

make up this world

of magma and lava rocks,

of volcanic explosions and shifting plates.

The Earth was formed so long ago

and life began here

from mysterious force;

at one point we were a hot magma-filled rock,

the next we were a place of revolution

and of explosion;

the seafloor curves

into the depths

as creatures lurk

and bask in their own mystery-

we know almost nothing

about this world

and the love it has to offer.
